For extended waiting times, it is advised to utilize alternative parking areas such as Car Park P20 or the underground garages P1, P3, and P4. The gas stations on the airport premises also provide options for waiting periods. It is suggested to approach the drop-off areas only when the individuals to be collected are already waiting outside the security zones with their luggage.
Premium Parking: For more comfort and safety
Parking Garage P20 at Munich Airport stands out with an array of additional services: On Level 06, in the area designated for comfort and security parking, separate parking spaces are available where vehicles are safely accommodated in a particularly protected special parking area 24 hours a day. In addition to the basic package, there is the option to add exclusive services such as valet parking, car wash, interior cleaning, refueling and charging facilities for electric vehicles. For these enhanced comfort and security standards, a service fee of €19 per day is charged as a supplement to the regular parking fee.

Barrier-free parking
At Munich Airport, accessible parking spaces are available in all car parks, easily accessible either on the same level as the terminal access or in close proximity to the elevators. Holders of a disability certificate with the markers “aG,” “BI,” or “H” benefit from a 50% discount on parking fees in selected areas such as the terminal parking area, the holidaymaker parking area, and the terminal drop-off zones. Parking is free for less than 5 hours, and a 50% reduction of the current rate is granted for longer durations.
E-Parking
At Munich Airport, there are parking spaces with charging facilities for electric vehicles available in P20 on Level 02. Users can connect their electric vehicles to a charging station and embark on their journey worry-free. Additionally, the airport offers a Valet E-Charge Service for travellers in a rush. This service involves the personal reception of the electric vehicle in the drop-off zones of the terminals, parking, and charging the vehicle during the owner’s absence.
FAQ about parking at Munich Airport
To reach Munich Airport (MUC) by car, drive approximately 30 km northeast from the city center of Munich to the Erdinger Moos, near the town of Freising. The journey takes about 45 minutes. The airport is accessible via the A92 motorway, both from the direction of Freising and Erding, and has its own highway exit. Follow the signs for “Flughafen München.” Additionally, the airport is reachable via the federal road B310, as well as the state roads St2084 and St2584.
At the drop-off zones of Terminals 1 and 2, it is allowed to park for a short and free duration once. The time limit is 8 hours (5 minutes for departures / 10 minutes for arrivals). Additionally, if you spend 20 euros on shopping or dining, parking in Parking Garage P20 at Munich Airport is free for three hours. This offer is valid only for the regular Parking Garage P20 and not for special areas like “XXL Parking”, “Valet Parking,” or “Comfort and Security Parking.”
